Housing sector rallies to advocate for stimulus funds

Eager for funds from President-elect Obama’s proposed stimulus plan, 600 housing- related organizations late last year formed Fix Housing First, a coalition aimed at securing government assistance for the housing industry. The initiative follows the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, designed to address the sub-prime mortgage fiasco, and the Bush administration’s $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP).
